In Gaza News
Herewith NY Times Reporter Patrick Kingsley’s Honors Since October 7:
1. As the IDF mounted its siege of al-Shifa hospital, Kingsley fed readers secret “proof” from “anonymous Israeli sources” that al-Shifa contained Hamas’ command-and-control center. The environs of the hospital were leveled; patients were targeted by Israeli snipers; babies died in incubators; tens of thousands originally seeking refuge fled the hospital in terror; the hospital’s pediatric war was destroyed. But no command-and-control center was found. Good job, Patrick!
2. As the ICJ deliberated whether Israel was committing genocide in Gaza, Kingsley fed readers secret Israeli “proof” from “anonymous Israeli sources” that Hamas dug as much as 450 miles of tunnels in Gaza. That alleged figure exceeded in length the famed sprawling, ramified New York City subway system (430 miles of tunnels), and, if true, every 1,200 hundred feet along Gaza’s 5-mile-long width, there was another 25-mile-long tunnel stretching its full length. The purpose of this absurd allegation was, of course, to prove that Israel wasn’t indiscriminately bombing Gaza but, on the contrary, was targeting its tunnels. It didn’t occur to Kingsley to query his “anonymous Israeli sources”: How do you know the combined length of Hamas tunnels if you still can’t find them? Nice work, Patrick!
3. The day before the ICJ delivered its decision, Kingsley fed his readers secret “proof” from “anonymous Israeli sources” that, far from committing genocide, Israeli officials ordered IDF combatants to obey the laws of war. It didn’t occur to Kingsley to query his “anonymous Israeli sources”: Why is the IDF systematically committing massive war crimes with impunity if it was ordered not to? Terrific reporting, Patrick!
4. The day after the ICJ decision, Kingsley fed his readers secret “proof” from “anonymous Israeli sources” that Hamas militants implicated in the October 7 attack had worked for UNRWA. He based this “scoop” on alleged phone intercepts and text messages provided by Israel. It didn’t occur to Kingsley to query his “anonymous Israeli sources”: Why don’t you just publish this evidence? Indeed, what does this evidence prove except that Hamas militants had day jobs? Now that Kingsley has helped spread the word, Western governments have suspended humanitarian aid to Gaza and more children will starve to death. Job well done, Patrick!
