Every Democrat in the House of Representatives, including the Twitter progressives, voted for an additional $40 billion in weapons for the Ukraine. Teaching at a public university where none of the water fountains function, I could think of better uses for that money. The great Congressman from East Harlem, Vito Marcantonio, was the only one to vote against support for the Korean War. The powers-that-be then colluded to destroy him: he lost his office and not longer thereafter his life. He suffered the same fate as W. E. B. Du Bois (who ended up in exile) and Paul Robeson (who ended up in seclusion). But the moral cretins who maligned them are long forgotten, while their example will forever inspire.
