It’s bizarre being in Turkey, where everyone agrees that Israel is bad, but people still protest only in condemnation as if people need to be aware who the “bad guys” are, rather than against the government, for failing to take action (Erdoğan’s family has personal trade relations with Israel in addition to the fact that trade with Israel is at a record high at present, plus military relations have not been severed, and any changes in diplomatic relations between Israel and Turkey are taken by the Israeli side, that is, they’ve limited their embassy staff for safety reasons, rather than been recalled like Latin American countries are doing).
