A poem – The Goldless Rule
Hypocrisy! Hypocrisy! Hypocrisy is my name!
It is a gainful endeavor for the endless war game. I thwart foes’ infractions, they refuse to be just.
Whilst I commit actions,
that turn souls into dust.
Yet I do it for righteousness, not like the other.
They do it out of greed and the mania to smother.
I dare not look in the mirror!
For I risk to see,
a hideous image projecting,
a hideous image of me.
I warn not to entertain this self-reproach delusion. As it may illuminate many helpful solutions. I am a great hypocrite in the most benign of sense. My hypocrisy does good, if not now, in the end. No matter what the facts are, this holds to be true. Regardless of virtue or of world view.
