Renowned Parliamentarians and Experts to Testify at Opening Hearing

OTTAWA, Oct. 29 /CNW Telbec/ – The All-Party Canadian Parliamentary Coalition to Combat Antisemitism, Chaired by Scott Reid, MP will launch its first ever Canadian Parliamentary Inquiry into Antisemitism in Canada and beyond, Chaired by Mario Silva, MP.

A press conference will be held on Monday, November 2nd, 2009, at the corrected time of 10:30 am in the Charles Lynch Press Gallery (130-S Centre Block) House of Commons, Ottawa.

The press conference will feature Members of Parliament with international expertise on antisemitism who will be opening the Hearing immediately following the press conference.

“Globalizing Hatred: The New Anti-Semitism”

– Prof. Gert Weisskirchen, former OSCE Personal Representative of the
Chairman-in-Office on Combating Antisemitism, and member of the German
Bundestag

– Hon. Irwin Cotler, Chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Coalition for
Combating Antisemitism, and Canadian member of Parliament

The Parliamentary Inquiry Hearing will be held from 11am – 2pm in Room 253-D Centre Block House of Commons, Ottawa.
