Protest to bring attention to the cancellation of a proposed talk by author Norman Finkelstein, assistant professor of political science Depaul University. Mr Finkelstein was scheduled to speak this month on his newly published book: “Beyond Chutzpah : On the misuse of anti-semitism and the abuse of history. Published by the University of California Press. The book attempts to expose “the vast proliferation of sheer fraud masquerading as serious scholarship” on Israel and its treatment of Palestinians. The bookstore owner has confirmed in an email that the speaking engagement was cancelled.
For more information, contact Elaine Antonia
Phone: (781)341-0052 cell phone (day of the protest) (617) 462-6252.
For information on Mr Finkelstein please visit his website http://www.normanfinkelstein.com. The bookstore’s website is www.harvard.com.
Please also circulate as widely as possible. It’s very difficult to get people to publicly support the Palestinian cause especially when it involves criticizing Israel.
