In What We Can Do

The Palestine solidarity movement in Athens, Greece, alongside the Palestinian community, will protest the arrival of Zionist war criminal, the “Butcher of Gaza,” Ehud Barak on Tuesday, January 10, 2012.
Organized by the Solidarity Network for the Palstinian Resistance in Greece, the demonstration will take place in Syntagma Square outside the Parliament in Athens, the location of the recent mass protests and uprising against IMF/World Bank imposed austerity on the people of Greece.
Members of the Solidarity Network were on the first fishing boats that broke the sea blockade of Gaza in 2008 and participated in the Freedom Flotilla in 2010.
The call for the rally, which is co-sponsored by the Antiwar Internationalist Movement, the Al-Awda Right to Return Society, the Greek Association of Solidarity with the Palestinian People – INTIFADA, the Stop the War Alliance and the Anti-Racism alliance, says that the overwhelming majority of the Greek people oppose the strategic alliance of the Greek government with Israel, and that this alliance implicates Greece in imperialist interventions in the Middle East, and in the oppression, killing and genocidal practices of Israel against the Palestinian people, calling for an end to all Greek collaboration with Israel.
