Rep. Alan Grayson endorses Sanders

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) on Monday endorsed Bernie Sanders for president, giving him another superdelegate vote.

Grayson, who is running for Senate in Florida, tweeted his endorsement for the Vermont senator with a link to a post titled “I Feel the Bern.” Grayson wrote in the post that he would “enthusiastically join, shoulder to shoulder, his political revolution.”

“Perhaps inspired by the Bernie Sanders message of “Not me. Us.”, for the past several days, I have appealed to Democrats across the nation to tell me for whom I should vote, as a Super-delegate at the Democratic National Convention,” he wrote in a post.

“The response has been absolutely overwhelming. Almost 400,000 Democrats voted at GraysonPrimary.com.”

The results showed Sanders with 86 percent and rival Hillary Clinton with just 14 percent.

“More than just a landslide,” he wrote. “An earthquake.”

Clinton has an overwhelming lead over Sanders among Democratic superdelegates like Grayson, who are free to vote for any candidate at the convention.

But Grayson said America need a revolution and Sanders “can make one.” The candidate is “unbought and unbossed,” he added.

“So am I. That is an essential element of the political revolution,” he said, before urging his readers to donate to the senator’s campaign.

Grayson said he and Sanders share the common goal of taking the country back from the “billionaires and the multinational corporations.”

“We want to make elections into about something different,” he wrote. “Not the lesser of two evils, but the greater good.”

Grayson is seeking to win the Democratic Senate nomination in Florida in a primary that will be held on Aug. 30. Amid that race, he is trying to put to rest an ethics investigation into his management of a hedge fund.
