This time its the turn of Yemen and the site of Islamic and pre-Islamic culture in the Old City of Sanaa. Saudi led forces have managed to bomb the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Old City of Sanaa, in Yemen’s capital. Its been defined as “one of the world’s oldest jewels” of Islamic culture and a testimony to the achievements of Islamic civilization. UNESCO head Irina Bokova is ‘profoundly distressed’ by the first direct air strike on old Sanna on Friday.

The intense Saudi shelling is aimed at dislodging Houthi rebels in order to restore exiled President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi. Many historical sites have been damaged in the recent fighting.
The bombing raid on Friday morning by Saudi-led forces also killed five people.
