KALAMAZOO — Author and speaker Norman Finkelstein will visit Western Michigan University to discuss peace in the Middle East at 6 p.m. on Jan. 31 at the North Ballroom in the Bernhard Center.
His lecture is called “Israel-Palestine: The Path to Peace.”
Finkelstein, who is the son of Holocaust survivors, is known for his strong criticism of Israeli and U.S. policy and advocates for Palestinian human rights. He is the author of several books regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict.
Finkelstein has emerged as one of the boldest Jewish voices on the issue, according to WMU. He is expected to address how to bring about a just solution to the conflict in accordance with international law.
His visit is being sponsored by West Michigan Justice in Palestine, Kalamazoo Non-Violent Opponents of War, Kalamazoo Interfaith Coalition for Peace and Justice, Hope Equals.
