Dear Dr. Finkelstein,

Yesterday my wife and I had the good fortune to meet your friend Musa in Hebron. It was great to meet him. No words can express the visit. It was possibly the first time in my life I have met a real hero. We also met his son who is studying in Russia and also one of his daughters. We hope to return soon for another visit.

For the first time in many months I see some hope for Israel. This hope comes not from any Israelis, but from the kind-heartedness of the Palestinians.

Now when people tell me “That’s not true, none of what you are saying is true.” My response will be “Yes, I agree. The truth is much worse.”
