An Open Letter to Good Samaritan University Hospital

1000 Montauk Hwy, West Islip, NY 11795 (631) 376-3000

August 25, 2026

To whom it may concern,

My name is Norman G. Finkelstein. I am a political science professor and author of many books (a couple of them international bestsellers) translated into some seventy foreign editions. In 2020 I was ranked the fifth-most influential political scientist in the world for the years 2000-2020. I have a large social media presence—just this past month I was interviewed by Hasan Piker, Piers Morgan, and Tucker Carlson—so you can find out more about me on the Web.

Dr. Rudolph Baldeo of Good Samaritan Hospital was my student at Hunter College in the early 1990s. I am a close family friend (his daughter is my godchild). I was informed today by Dr. Baldeo that “Dr.” Raio (I do not believe he deserves his professional title without inverted commas) terminated him allegedly with cause today. I stringently interrogated Dr. Baldeo on the circumstances surrounding the so-called incident that resulted in his termination. I queried Dr. Baldeo whether it could possibly be construed that he was in the wrong in this incident. He replied No. Of this I can say with one hundred percent certainty: Dr. Baldeo is constitutionally incapable of lying.

I have at this point grown weary of “Dr.” Raio’s mafiosi modus operandi. There is a long paper trail of Raio’s sordid and squalid machinations. Let me put this as directly as possible: Dr. Baldeo is not terminated. He will show up tomorrow (Wednesday) at work at his scheduled time. If he is prevented from entering the hospital premises, I will engage in nonviolent civil disobedience in his stead. I will allow myself to be arrested so as to speak to a judge. I will inform the judge that Dr. Baldeo has been repeatedly harassed and abused by Raio. I will also signal credible allegations that Raio has indulged in all manner of professional and personal misconduct (from billing fraud and under-reporting of child sexual abuse to carnal activity with his subordinate in the hospital parking lot) that warrants a full-fledged criminal investigation of PEP and Good Samaritan hospital. If and when I am arrested, this letter will be posted on my social media and the legacy media will be

informed. For the record, it is widely acknowledged by friend and foe alike that I am not a blowhard: I don’t issue threats; I give prior notice.

“Dr.” Raio has crossed a line. A disaster impends that will implicate not only PEP but also the hospital. You have no one to blame but yourselves for permitting a lowlife thug (Don Juan or Don Turd?) to be employed in a supervisory role at a distinguished medical institution.

Sincerely,

Professor Norman G Finkelstein
