I would like to thank all of you for your contributions. When we began this fundraiser, naturally our ultimate goal was to raise $100,000 for Al Awda Hospital in Gaza, which is in dire need of medical supplies and equipment. At the same time, our effort aims to shed light on the ongoing siege on the people of Gaza. This was not meant as an act of charity. Instead we decided to raise the money using a crowdfunding model, such that people from all over the world can participate in the collective solidarity effort with Palestine, its people and its cause.

A few days ago I saw a picture of the Al Awda staff thanking you for your contributions. Now that we are this close to the finish line and raised the hopes of many, it would be unfortunate if we did not reach our goal. I encourage you to spread the word and hopefully the next email you will recieve from us it will read “We Made It ! “

I’ve had the privilege to help Norman prepare his Amnesty exposé for publication. I am thrilled that so many of you have read it and heeded our call to pledge money for Al Awda Hospital. Thank you, all. Let’s all do our best to reach the goal of $100,000!

Nearly 850 people have donated so far, mostly small donations, and we’re nearly at the finish line. Let Israel keep its sugar daddies — its Adelsons and Sabans and Bronfmans. The combined effort and sacrifice of decent and principled people around the world, each giving what they can in the service of justice and relief, will triumph in the end.

We’re almost there. If each of you asks just one friend to give just $10.00, we’ll double the number of supporters and we can prepare for the celebration.
